The Philippines economy continues to outpace the rest of the ASEAN countries with growth projected at 6.5% in 2014 and 2015 driven by
robust domestic consumption and government spending in post typhoon reconstruction projects & investments and is a re ection on
the con dence in the leadership of the country. The Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines projected that total car
sales to reach 210,000 units in 2013 – an increase of 14% from 2012. In addition, robust sales also recorded for motorcycles and
commercial vehicles. It is estimated that the tyre business in the Philippines will reach US$2.8 billion in 2018.
